Relay races for 4, 5 , and 6^th grade students of local elementary schools

1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd  Prizes awarded to our local schools
One of Strawberry Days events for the children is the Relay races held on the Monday during the yearly event. It was originally sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Pleasant Grove which started it in the early  2000’s. When the Kiwanis club disbanded , Doug Thompson, one of the members and two times president of the club did not want the races to go away. Growing up in Boise, Idaho he competed in the city wide elementary races there and wanted this to be a tradition here with the grade schools in Pleasant

Grove. The city has given financial help to provide ribbons, a traveling trophy and cash awards to the schools for play ground equipment or what ever the schools need. Boys and girls from the 4^th 5^th and 6^th grades compete in the 4 x100 relays. Over the years more than a thousand kids have participated in the races we are probably now starting to see a second generation of kids racing. Come and cheer your kids on this year. The races will be held on the 15^th of June on the PGHS track. Warm up and instructions begin at 4:30 and the races will begin at 5:00. Come and enjoy a fun event!
